Matthew 5:14-16
"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid . Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."
I recently read these three verses in a girls' Bible study I go to. Although I have heard this passage so many times before, it just stood out to me in a different way when I read it last night. I realized that we should not only share the light and joy that we have from Jesus, but we should also share the gifts and talents God has given to us. I'm not trying to brag here, but God has blessed me with a voice to sing with and fingers to play the guitar with. HE showed me that I can be a light in this world with singing, or music, or speaking, or any other talent HE has given me. I don't need to hide those things within myself and not shine forth with them. We need to share the light we have from Jesus. DO NOT hide it inside you. What talents has God given you to show light to this dark world?
