One who finds Wisdom finds a great thing.

Wisdom-- The ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting; insight.

I think one big thing lacking in my life is wisdom.  I like to blame that lack on being second born, but I know I shouldn't.  If you are second born then you know what I'm talking about.  We like to have fun...the more fun the merrier. :)  So many times I make dumb decisions because I don't think of the consequences.  I know wisdom is such a great thing.  If I can only grasp my hands around it.  I need God to show me how to do this.  Do you all have any good ideas how I can become more wise?

Wisdom is a great thing. (Proverbs 4:7)
Wisdom is pure. (James 3:17)
Wisdom makes a person happy.  (Proverbs 3:13)
Wisdom is a hard thing to gain. (Proverbs 8:5)
Wisdom saves lives. (Ecclesiastes 7:12)

  1. Dude, unfortunately, wisdom is one of those virtues that takes a *long* time to develop. People have to make mistakes before they learn (saying this from daily experience, lol). After a quick search on biblegateway, this is what I found ;)

Wisdom comes from having respect for God: Psalm 111:10; Provb 1:7
Wisdom comes from showing humility: Provb 11:2
Wisdom comes from asking advice from other people: Provb 13:10
Wisdom comes from thinking about our actions before doing them: Provb 14:8
(finally) Wisdom comes simply by praying asking God for it: James 1:5

  5. Wisdom comes with understanding. As you grow and experience more of the things the Lord wants you to experience and do, you will grow in wisdom. Solomon asked God for wisdom instead of riches and fame and the Lord granted that for him. Pray for Him to show you wisdom and also for Him to show you where you already have some. You will be encouraged in your growth.

    Hugs,
    Mrs. A.
